Start by creating a revit curtain wall object.

It doesn t accept the custom curtain wall family panels i ve created.
Unpin the panel you might have to go to the select drop down menu and check the select pinned elements.

Omit grid segments from curtain panels when customizing curtain panels in a curtain wall you can exclude segments from the grid to achieve the desired result.
I ve had issues with the panel extending past the extents of the overall curtain wall.
It seems that system panels are masses in place and not families which is why they are able to adjust to custom wall profiles.
I ve set the curtain wall to disallow joins but i don t know how to do that for the panel separately.
I have a curtain wall which uses another wall type as the panel.
This approach is useful because you can t create a custom mullion family in revit.
You can build the frame from a curtain wall and build a seperate continuous board wall in front of that.
