Power Door Lock Fuse Keeps Blowing

If the power door lock relay fails it will cut off power to the entire power door lock. Iv since had the dash back apart and replaced the door lock relay. Usualy the door wiring is damaged but there may be more then two cigarette lightes depending on the model. Power door locks are prone to failures due to electrical interruptions corrosion broken wires or blown fuses.

To test disconnect all locks and switch then replace fuse if don t blow start with driver door and reconnect lock check fuse see if it blew if not reconnect switch active lock check fuse see if ok. Ive recently had the dash apart to fix the defrost diverter. Unplug cigarette lighter check circuit unplug each door individualy at first don t forget the back doors check circuit. Power door locks that do not function are another common symptom for a problem with the door lock relay.

When i got home i noticed the fuse for the door locks was blown. Which blew the fuse within 15 miles. Maybe one of the lock actuators or a switch. Does it blow the fuse if so sounds like possibly a door lock actuator is going out and sticking causing the fuse to blow.

Ive disconnected the brake controller the cig. Fuse to suburban cigarette lighter power locks keeps blowing. Find out why a lack of any movement in door locks is most likely a result of a blown. And the fuse blows as soon.
